Abstract

Thousands years ego Indian Psychology started to work on Positive Psychology where health was given more importance than the absence of diseases. Among many other healing techniques, the focus of the study was Sattvavajay Chikitsa and to assess what impact it may provide in applying this therapeutic technique in collaboration with the Cognitive Behavior Therapy. Charaka Samhita introduced Sattvavajay Chikitsa with an objective of bringing harmony in life with the society and environment, controlling mind not to get carried away by the objects of the indriya or senses and finally enabling individuals to win over their mind.  In collaborating CBT with Sattvavajay Chikitsa, Negative Automatic Thoughts, Dysfunctional assumptions and Core beliefs may be encountered by Dhee, Dhriti and Smriti to enable individuals to uplift their intelligence for Viveka to intervene for controlling their mind not to get carried away towards Anitya and Ahita. Also through such combined technique individual may learn to develop memories that can work in harmony to lead them towards oneness for developing sthitaprajna and tranquility in mind.
