Abstract
The role of artificial intelligence is increasingly important in professional life in general. The media sector around the world has witnessed a qualitative shift in the employment and use of artificial intelligence tools and applications, achieving effectiveness characterized by speed, accuracy, and reduced time and effort in producing multiple content. However, in the Arab world, it is still in its early stages. This study attempts to reveal the problems that make Arab media limited in benefiting from artificial intelligence tools and applications, as non-Arabs have benefited from them, and to understand the challenges that hinder the employment and use of artificial intelligence tools and applications in Arab media. The summary of the limited experiences in the Arab world showed that the use and employment of artificial intelligence is limited to less complex tools, such as converting audio to text or vice versa, verifying information, translating texts, and supporting visual production. Contributions to the creation and development of dedicated artificial intelligence tools and applications were also very limited. As for the challenges facing Arab media organizations, they lie in the existence of algorithmic and linguistic biases due to the lack of content and the weak Arabic context in cyberspace, and the inability of artificial intelligence to differentiate between Arabic vocabulary and terminology..
